Sacred Cash Cow Part II

Under: Ashwin Madia, Compare and Contrast

Compare and contrast,

Ashwin Madia, from an article at MPR by Curtis Gilbert says this.:

“I don’t view them as Indian Americans or African Americans,” he said. “I view everybody as Americans. And Minnesotans, people in our district and people across the country have been very excited at this message. So, we haven’t really been paying attention to distinctions like that.

Ashwin Madia, speaking writing to an assembled group of potential Indian-American donors,  says this:

“There are an estimated 2.5 million Asian Indians in this country, and an estimated 30,000 Asian Indians in the state of Minnesota. We have ZERO Asian Indians representing us in our national Congress. The Indian community of Minnesota could be the first in the nation to make sure an Indian gets elected into U.S. Congress. But only you can make this happen.”

If you’d taken the time to read your own link, you’d have seen the truth:

Madia was not asking for money. He was informing Indian-Americans, who are under-represented in politics, how to use the caucus system, just like he has informed Americans of many other heritages how to use the caucus system.

Your statement that he was “speaking to an assembled group of donors” shows that you’re either illiterate or don’t care about the facts.

“Your statement that he was “speaking to an assembled group of donors” shows that you’re either illiterate or don’t care about the facts.

Actually, if you had quoted my statement correctly, I said

    “group of potential Indian-American donors”

    Please don’t misquote me again.

Since a “group of potential donors” includes virtually anyone, I suppose MinnVoter stands corrected. MinnVoter, in the future let’s be careful not to call the Master illiterate when he’s really just spin doctoring in a dishonest fashion.

    “group of potential donors”

Again, I get misquoted. What is it with you people?

    I said

    “group of potential Indian-American donors,”

Please make sure that what you place between quotation marks is actually what I wrote.

What’s the big deal if Madia has an unrepresented group (Asian Americans) desiring to support his campaign? It seems perfectly all right for Paulsen to continue his cozy relationship with Big Oil and Big Tax Credits for the Wealthy!

If you had read my earlier post, I clearly say that there is nothing wrong with Madia targeting Indian-Americans for donations and support.. What I have a problem with is his answer to Curtis Gilbert’s question where he claims “we haven’t really been paying attention to distinctions like that.”

He most certainly has been paying attention. What he said to Gilbert was a lie.
